With One Voice

I do not know where we were last night, in the Forum de Beirut or some other place to which the Spirit of God had captured us. Chanters, from several churches, were gathered to chant, with one voice, to God, our One God. This is the third day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. It was one of those great days that could have hastened Pascha. There were more than three hundred chanters. They said together: “Our unity is long overdue. Here we are. These are minutes that could last forever”! In my place, I tried to go out a little to those who, from here and there, raise another voice, those who believe that they are the only ones with an “acceptable voice”. The voices in front of me were too powerful to allow any other voice to say anything else. They were confident, strong, so powerful. Not only were they coming out of the mouths of the chanters, but they were also descending on us as if from heaven. Last night, chanters said, in multiple languages, that we are tired of the tyranny of division.
