The Gift of Reconciliation

A friend of mine summoned me to accompany him to visit his son. He told me that “the bridegroom (that is, his son), whom you had crowned, broke up with his wife. He was angry at her because she had hurt him in front of friends who were visiting them. I want you to help me reconcile them". During the visit, it was clear that the father would not accept an end to his mission other than the one he had decided. I was amazed at his ability to keep himself free from emotions that unfolded before him. He did not give up. He refused to be defeated... If it seemed to him that the matter would slip out of his hand, he would say his matchless word: "let us calm down a bit”! He was perfect in love, patience and justice, and he had tremendous ability to give and take. When the dialogue reached a place where he saw that he was now able to leave in peace, he asked me to pray. This visit has reinforced in me that the ministry of reconciliation is a gift from above.
