Of the Striving of the Coptic Church

I am amazed at the effort exerted by the Coptic Church in electronic (and paper) publishing. What is remarkable about this publication is that it is open to the thought of the Churches of the whole world. To lay before the eyes of your people what originated with others in whom you trust, this means two things: first, that you have confidence in your upbringing, then that, with you, God’s knowledge cannot be restrained. I have decided to write this a few days ago, after I saw the book “the Virgin Mary” by Father Alexander Shmemann, of blessed memory, as translated into Arabic on a website in Egypt. This book, which was a discovery for me, filled me with joy and took me back to the need of our Arabic library for scholarly brethren who would dedicate themselves to translate into Arabic the legacy of the enlightening writers in the world, like Father Shmemann and others. Blessed is the Church that strives to motivate Her children, and indeed to motivate us all, to adhere to the knowledge of the Word, Whose obedience raises man to the heights of awareness, and the eloquence of life, and testimony.
