Monday Morning

Every Monday at about nine in the morning, brother Tony Khoury calls on my home landline. This is a tradition that we have adopted since he was overtaken, during the Covid-19 period, by a health condition most traces of which have vanished, thank God. Brother Tony was a Secretary General to the Orthodox Youth Movement (MJO). However, beside that, he has been a companion to me ever since I committed to the Movement, and is one of the brethren who hold me by the hand, to this day. This Monday phone call is to check on me, to reinforce that, even if we cease to see each other, for whatever reason it may be, we cannot cease to belong to “one body” (Romans 12:5). In his call, Brother Tony asks me about everything, follows up on details that concern me, in what makes me happy or sad, and in what enhances the regeneration of our Church today and tomorrow. I do not limit his following me up to this call. I am confident that I live by the grace of his prayers and the prayers of the brethren every day, from Monday to Sunday.
