Today, I am struck by the meaning that this day holds for many in the world as being a vantage point that allows them to overlook an entire year. God has given us today, which means that He resides in it with us. Our entire history, past, present and future, has no meaning if we do not see every day we are gifted with, an invitation to open our eyes to the fact that God is here, with us. Every day brings me this new opportunity, it allows me to see God as Lord of my life. I do not encourage myself to trust in the succession of days, but in He Who fills them with His gracious presence. God is extremely generous, in all circumstances. This is His one approach with the deserving and the undeserving, with he who sees His action and he who sees nothing. God is gratuitous. He offers me today to become more aware that I am in need of the gifts of grace that He lavishes upon us all without measure. Jesus said: “without Me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Look ahead to the days based on these words, and be always well.
