I have a friend together with whom I used to live in the same area before he returned to his country. Faces consist of renewed kinship. Following his return, I have heard nothing at all from him. I am not blaming him. I am telling what has happened. The man was a craftsman, bold in his ability to convince you that no manual labor that anyone could ever need would be difficult for him. He was headstrong, marked with unwavering convictions. He loved life in Lebanon, and he did not like it at the same time. I would not be justifying him if I mentioned that Lebanon appears to you at times to be an incomprehensible country, a country that can go to extremes in love and humility, or in discrimination and arrogance. I am not underestimating the responsibility of people if they humble themselves or become arrogant, but I am rather pointing to what inexcusable contradiction we have within us. What are my friend's news, today? I would love to know.
