O God, O our God Who is All-knowing, be gracious unto us with Your mercy and Your strength. Does the Lord stipulate anything from His servants? Do not expect anything good from us. You be our good. You hearken unto us both when we speak and when we are silent. We are people who know nothing the way we know how to justify our downfalls and our shortcomings. You see us doing nothing in order to keep from us alienation, homelessness and estrangement… then we complain that we have dwindled in number, or we maintain that we are not a mere number! O God, do not leave us in the barrenness of our failure and our sloth. Send out Your Word in our face. Break in to us like you broke in to Your fearful disciples, and guided them to acknowledge that You are our Lord and our God. Roll away from before us every stone that prevents us from prostrating before You Who are alive. Raise us up like the paralytic of Bethesda. Set us free like the Samaritan woman; and heal us like You healed the blind from birth. Be gracious unto us O God, be gracious. Without Your generosity, how are we to become reconciled with the fact that life consists only of loving You and serving You?
