Christ of the Ozarks

A theologian minister in the West told about his visit to the huge and towering “Christ of the Ozarks” statue, which is installed on a hill in Eureka Springs, Arkinsas, USA. He mentioned two things, his excitement about visiting the beautiful city, and next, his shock that the statue, representing Christ Who triumphed over death, was “without scars”, that is without the marks of the nails and the spear. What caught my attention is that the theologian, cannot, in any context, take off his intellectual cloak. I read a few discussions, by artists and others, criticizing the statue with its shape and features. However, the serious theologians are not interested in criticisms that are polemical or humorous in character, but in the Truth. When the glorified Christ was revealed, He did not conceal the signs of His everlasting love (John 20:20).
