Last Wednesday, Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over the Gaza Strip, citing the imminent Ramadan fast and calling in them for "tolerance and mercy". The inhabitants of the Strip received this repugnant trickery with indignation. They considered it a sacrilege to have Israel dispatch to them, with its deadly fires, leaflets containing phrases such as: “Feed the needy and speak kindly, may the fast be accepted, and the sins be forgiven, and may the breaking of the fast be delicious”. Lying is not an adjunct characteristic to a state founded on orgies and violation..., rather it is inherent in its very nature. Israel has been killing people in the Gaza Strip, young and old, with savage brutality, for five months now, before a world mostly asleep or complicit, and sends its well-wishes in a holy season! Did it intend, in its leaflets, to imply that there is no ceasefire for its aggression during the fast? During the war, the days have a single law. The people of Gaza are in the right, if they observe their fast, “and the breaking of fast is more potent for them”!
