Today

To believe that God is looking after us for what is good for us on this day, that is, as long as we have a day, this is the secret of the eloquence of history that was renewed by Jesus Who is existent in the ongoing present. I do not agree with those who use the word of Jesus: “sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:24), to prevent themselves, or those who are with them, from extending their gaze to a better tomorrow. The "present day" is not the graveyard of tomorrow, rather, it is to receive the publicly revealed act of God, and extend it to the end, in history, our history and the history of the world. This is the story of today, the story of the extended day that God fills with His presence which accomplishes grace for grace. The more we realize that the goodness of God overshadows our day, the more our history becomes a confidence in a God Who never ceases to work in order for us to be always very well.
