To My Son and His Household

We left you the day before yesterday. We have lived with you, in the distant and cold country, for fifty days. We were able to have some alone time (some time alone) together. We have talked about a lot of things. I loved that you have captured, with this strong friendship that unites you with your wife, the secret of the consolation left to you by God. I do not ignore the love that exists between you two, but I am rather filling up the free times with what kindles it. A father is not to be recommended to take care of his children. Among you, I have learned many things. However, I recommend that you and your entire household remain faithful to our Church heritage in any detail it requests. Every detail expresses our commitment to our Church, which is all about loving Jesus. You are living in a different country. It is a conglomeration (cluster) of countries that makes you feel that freeing oneself from everything is a good foundation for a common life. Be faithful, in everything, to what “was once for all delivered to the saints (Ref Jude1:3)”. This will keep you a firm rock in an increasingly unstable world. Until you and your household return to us, I leave you my love and may the grace of our Lord protect you, wherever you are.
