To Brother Elie Kebbe

Within the Orthodox Youth Movement (MJO), there is a tradition that the first term of the Secretary-General, which extends for two years, allows him to perceive things, from his new position, with new accuracy. His re-election for a second term, if nominated, is for increasingly anticipated fruitful outcomes. This tradition does not overshadow the acknowledgment that the brethren have loved their Secretary-General in his position, and they have been reassured by his approach, wisdom, and the light they have seen in him of which they wanted to have more. In any case, "the Secretariat", in its essence, is not a position, but rather a ministry, in which everyone participates, whose highest goal is to preserve the vision, which the Spirit of God delivered once for all to us, without blemish. We all know, in our vacated and fragmented countries, that the challenges we are facing today are significant. I would not be avoiding displaying the losses we gather every day if I said that the Movement cannot, in any way, resemble the world in which it exists. How can it be in the world without being of it? The answer lies solely in accepting God's leadership over it, that is, in accepting His gentleness and severity; it lies in the love that, while rejoicing in the Truth, always seeks to spread peace and unity. I pray for the Movement and its Secretary-General for abundant fruitfulness desired by God.
