The Work of Us All

The statement, which was issued by the fathers of the Antiochian Synod at the conclusion of their last meeting, magnifies the question about the believers who are concerned about their Churches today. Who of the believers today, in our Church and elsewhere, is really concerned about his Church? I am not concealing from you. I asked a few brothers I know if any of them had read the statement of our last council. The answer was negative. It is not difficult for the leaders of the Churches today to evoke in people that everything in the Church concerns them as individuals. If we adjust their use from the general to the particular, there are several traditional and modern means that can revolutionize the ecclesial reality, not only in conveying the news, but also in prompting the believers to discover that they are responsible in and for the Church. The Church is the work of us all for the sake of an ideal life and an ideal witness.
