The Word of Words

Why the church of the Resurrection (Al-Kiama)? The sensible answer is that the old Church in our parish, Saints Peter and Paul Church, was no longer able to accommodate the faithful who attend it. Those who had conceived the idea of building it had entrusted those who have worked on its construction or contributed to it with this need for the sake of worship. One of the church committee members told me: “We want the church so that we and our children can live in it for God”. This is the word of words. Most people do not know that the Church is comprised of the faithful who obey God's call, and over whom He rules with His love. It is the story of the endless life. It is both a presence and a journey; a dwelling and a leap into what is to come. The call is one, it is to the heaven that is descending from above. This means that churches are built, so that the faithful may be strengthened in their belonging to God and to one another, but also to uphold that they belong to God for the sake of a better humanity. Churches are not completed by just their stones rising and being adorned. If, on the last day, God says that you are the Church, then the construction will be complete!
