Was the explosion of August 2020 a crime of negligence or intent? For two years, this has been Lebanon’s question! We got accustomed to the fact that crimes in our country become events of deploration, condemnation and remembrance. What is heart-breaking in the country is that, if we concur on the bitterness of defeat, you see us hobbling sometimes in concurring on demanding the truth. What happened two years ago, no one can determine all its damages. I am not talking only about those who have become with God, or those who have been broken in body or soul, or those who have been displaced or lost their livelihoods…, but also about those who refuse to believe in life in their country. Uncover your hearts! Something of each of us has been broken in the Beirut explosion! I am not seeking the truth in retaliation against anyone, any one, or vindication for anyone, for any one, but rather because I believe that there is no meaning for a country that does not realize that its call is to resemble heaven. Justice and mercy, on earth, are of the Truth of heaven. Peace be upon Beirut!
