Is condemning the attack on Gaza a deviation from the teaching of the Word? That is, in one word: is neglecting the causes of the oppressed on earth, namely those whose necks are under the knife of an insane butcher, a new Nero, Adolph Hitler or Joseph Stalin…, consistent with “the Incarnate Word”? I was prompted to ask this question by some friends who believe that “clergymen” should restrict themselves to speaking about matters of heaven. I am not debating the intentions. I know that this belief can cover, here or there, beliefs that accept what Israel is doing in Gaza in revenge for itself, that is, beliefs that equate the criminal with the victim! Do you believe it? There is no greater harmony with Judaism than the separation between earth and heaven. I will be honest with you! Nothing terrifies me like the thought of us being like the criminals who killed God's Messiah or were consenting to his killing! Every slain person is a potential christ. Gaza, which has become a word, or rather which will judge whether we are in harmony with the Word, this is what it is saying today.
