The Rule of Mercy

He who loves does not only offer to others what good they deserve, but rather what he perceives as being needed by them too. Be just. However, know that love cannot be expressed by the logic of justice, but by the logic of Jesus Who is all full of mercy; totally, entirely. Do you want to know which logic is ruling you? The answer is easy. Love always takes the initiative in doing good. I will give you an example. Do you remember the story of the Good Samaritan told by Jesus to one of the experts of the Law (Luke 10: 25-37)? When the Samaritan passed by the wounded man lying on the road, he assumed the responsibility on his life, without knowing who he was or whether he deserved to be served. Three things reveal that this Samaritan is ruled by the logic of mercy: “1- He seemed trained in love. 2- He renounced everything awaiting him by revealing that love is his time and his occupation. 3- He withheld nothing from this threatened stranger”. This is the rule of mercy.
