Of those I met in this wide expanse, are relative brethren, some of whom I did not know were here. We met in our home, in the Church. How wondrous is the mystery of the Church! How wondrous is her ability to break the boundaries between people, regardless of their origin, color, or gender… wondrous is her ability to make all as one, members of the household of God! We have no meaning without this mystery, the mystery of the Church. In the city of Toronto, I met brethren from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Egypt, including Brother Riad Touma from Aleppo. We talked a little bit. We mentioned some Antiochian faces. He repeated to me words left to us as a legacy by Father George Massouh. I sent greetings to those who are with him, and entrusted Syria to him. I told him “our country is not to be forsaken”. I am talking about the continuance of the regeneration effort, the living testimony, and the ministry that does not distinguish between one face and another. Without this continuance, in its manifest dimension, homelands are pointless. I bade Riad farewell to proceed to a program that was awaiting me! However, the joy of today's meeting will remain with me forever.
