The Mind of the Orthodox Church

The Great Lent is also a time for reading, a journey towards greater understanding of the word and its meanings. You know that there are books provided by the Church that offer us eternal nourishment during Lent (the New Testament, The Ladder of Divine Ascent...). This encourages us to establish a special tradition of reading, that is, selecting books to include in our program for both during and outside of Lent. I had mentioned to you before books that I find beneficial to read at all times (The Song of Tears, Fasting and Orality...). Today, I would like to point out Metropolitan Hierotheos Vlachos's book “The Mind of the Orthodox Church”, which was translated into Arabic by Reverend Father Antoine Melki (published by the An-Nour Orthodox Cooperative). I am not suggesting that you read the book individually only, but also that you gather together to read it, wherever you are. This is a book capable of enriching your perspective with treasures that the Church agrees upon and whetting your appetite for responsible discussions. So, read the book, individually and in groups. In both cases, wealth is guaranteed.
