A friend of mine who visited me during the summer singled me out with a long evening in which he told me about the days of his emigration that he had decided after the explosion of Beirut on August 4, 2020. He told me, among other things, that emigration is “a journey into an unknown world in which kindness comes from God and some of His friends”. Since the life of commitment to our Church brought us together, my friend has made sure that we keep on being in touch. This has continued abroad. Since his travel, he never spoke to me, before, about the “unknown world” the way he spoke to me this evening. I am not defending my friend only, but also every human being who falls prey to a beast in the homeland or abroad. How does a human being, created by God in His own image, acquire the morals of a beast? My friend said: “God is stronger. When God sees that you have devoted yourself to Him, He will gift you with a harp, by playing on which you will have the victory (Revelation 15:2). God, in us, always triumphs with kindness! I was fascinated by this evening and what I had learned from it. I pray that God protects you, wherever you are.
