The Foundation of Peace

In Lebanon and the world, there are voices calling for appeasement on our border with Palestine. It seems that we have not all noticed that Israel asks for no one's opinion about its wars. Ontologically, it is constantly at war with two: with those whose land it covets, and those who hate its oppression and obstinacy. If we review the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with sober eyes, we can know that the Jews, from the first Zionist Congress in 1897 until today, have been determined to expand, alone, on the land of Palestine. Yesterday, for example, there was talk that the Sinai desert be for the Palestinians instead of Gaza! This is a continuation to a systematic expulsion established by the Oslo Accords, which Edward Saïd described as “peace without a land”. I am not saying that Jews have no right to life. They have a full right to live, yet outside of Palestine or under the rule of its people. There is no peace with the usurper. No two countries exist on the same land. The foundation of peace is for the Palestinians to live peacefully in their land.
