The Feast of Repentance

The Church, in arranging her congregational prayers, always moves towards set goals. The major feast is looked at from afar; the small one too... Repentance is one of the rules of this movement. However, repentance, in these days that extend from the feast of Theophany to the beginning of the preparation for the Great Lent, not only remains a rule, but also becomes, itself, the feast. Today's Gospel, which our Church read this morning, recorded the word of Jesus: "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". Of itself, the word indicates that the Church will devote herself with us to what reveals to us that repentance is a complete goal for life, it is a feast both on earth and in heaven (Luke 15:7). This is understood by those who follow Jesus in congregational prayers. Do you seek to live in a feast that lasts? The Church answers: follow Jesus. With Him alone, you will discover that there is no time without a feast.
