The Feast

When I committed myself to the Church life, I discovered the feast. Previously, the feast, for me, consisted of the two feasts, the small one and the great one, Christmas and Pascha. Any other ecclesiastical matter was of no concern to me. Commitment has given me to discover that any devotional gathering is a complete feast. In one word, I learned that the Sunday Liturgy is, itself, the feast. Today, my conviction is complete that I have discovered the Truth without which life has no meaning. Yesterday, I said to some of my friends that “he who abandons the Sunday prayer or limps in committing to it, no matter his merits, loses the essence of the new life”! I did not say that God has commissioned me to classify people, to distinguish some of them from others! With what I said, I intended to reiterate the Truth that we have said, in the Church, from the very beginning. I know that the Truth can hurt; this is not my intention for you. My wish is that we all taste, on earth, the joys of heaven.
