The Daily Prayers

Those who pray are rare nowadays. Priests know, they know from the communion of life within the parish and its extensions, from the sincerity of the brethren, as well as from other things that make this world seem like it is night. I am not talking about those who sum up the ecstasy of the heart with a sacred gesture or a few good words which they repeat morning and evening, but rather about the shunning of the daily prayers (Orthros, Small Compline…) by many among us. Who prays the daily prayers? I am not writing about this neglect to describe the situation, but rather as a reminder that the believer is he who seeks in his life, day by day, to be ecclesiastically perfect.
