The Church of Wisdom

The priest does not move from one diocese to another prior to his obtaining his presiding bishop’s permission and that of the bishop in whose diocese he will reside. Before my departure, I visited Metropolitan Silouan Moussi to ask for his blessing and prayers. I learned that he would write to Metropolitan Saba Isper that I will be a guest in his Archdiocese for several weeks. I have known Metropolitan Saba since almost forty years. I spoke to him about my visit. You are welcomed generously only by him who considers himself a guest in life until the end! Upon my arrival to the expanse that lies under the jurisdiction of Bishop Alexander Mufarrij, he took me under his omophorion. These are not mere formal details. In history, the movements of some bishops and priests have contributed to the spreading of the spirit of discord and the dissemination of heresies… The testimony of the local bishop declares, among other things, that the guest is one with him in the faith. Moreover, the ecclesiastical truth decrees for the guest to commit himself to being a guest. So, this is a temporary permission; not a movement for relocation. This is the Church of Wisdom that keeps us in the Truth.
