I am embarrassed about inserting myself into my lines. Yet, I beg your pardon, I cannot conceal my sorrow, even my resentment at every adult who does not preserve, as the apple of his eye, his children’s tenderness. Will any of you explain to me, if you will, what it means for a man to get mad at his wife in front of his child, swearing at her or hitting her (a friend mentioned here once that there are women who abuse their men too!)? Where is adulthood in this madness? Is the child a thing of the furniture in our home, something inanimate without a soul, a thing not a human being?! Do we hurry to give him birth, only as a testimony that we have become adults? Just so you know, my friends, a true father never ceases to give birth to his children. He gives birth to them, every day, in love, accompaniment and in watching over everything that pertains to their growth and progress in the Truth. Do we remember that there is no evidence of adulthood that outweighs our concern for the safety of our children? If we keep this in mind, it will keep us as well.
