On the evening of August 4, 2020, I was in the church. The explosion, that boomed out, seemed to me as if it was happening in my office, where I was waiting for the time when we arise to “the Supplication to the Theotokos”. I went up to the church looking for the source of the sound. There were some brethren who came, before prayer, to pray, or for some service work. Livid, they were engrossed in analyzing the sound! Crime in the country has caused almost all of us to become experts in its outcome! I made a few calls, one of which was the call to my eldest son's wife who got injured in the explosion, which we learned had taken place at a meeting point for the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa, namely, in the port of Beirut! Today, I am visiting my son and his family, who were driven by this criminal explosion to leave the country. Lebanon’s explosions are numerous. However, this one, with the wounds… and the tears it has left behind, has considerably contributed to our dispersion all over the earth. Who will give us an accountable country?
