The Arab Brethren

When we project, on this Arab expanse, intimate expressions taken from our households, from our flesh and blood, or from what we believe in, we do not only mean to talk about an ancient kinship in which some of us go back to our father Abraham or our grandfather Adam, but rather about an ongoing kinship we hope for, for our good every day. I am not turning a blind eye to life as it really is. We all know that the relationship between brethren, in any of its forms, at home and outside the home, may sometimes get shaken, and may be governed by emotions, ambitions, and disagreements... Am I saying that Cain and Abel have written our destiny until the end? We would be meaningless if we did not learn, from what is happening in history, to denounce its evil, and preserve its goodness. How do the brethren always keep in mind that they are brethren? This is the question of questions in an increasingly disintegrating world! Brotherhood is a gift and a right. Dear Arab brethren, we owe it to Palestine, our sister, to make her feel that she is our sister!
