I watched the television interview, carried out last Wednesday by a Lebanese channel, with Metropolitan Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia. This is a “loud voice” from deep within the occupied territories. What is noteworthy in the interview is that Metropolitan Hanna refused to call what is happening in his country a war. He said: “do not say: war, but rather aggression”. Then he called on all churches, especially those in “the West that is biased, as a whole, towards this racist, fascist colonialism,” to raise their voices against this brutal aggression toward our people. He said that praying and lighting candles are good; but today, they are not enough. He said that what is required is clear and bold stances, first from political officials in the world, then from the churches in the East and West, condemning the massacres and demanding an end to the aggression. "Stop this aggression". This is a tribute to all those who come from God’s temples to defend the oppressed and the people of truth, with the power of the Truth.
