Preaching in Christ

Communication media has given us the ability to extend our eyes to "distant pages". A few days ago, the "Google app" helped me translate into Arabic a sermon delivered by one of the brethren priests, years ago, on the occasion of the feast of Nativity. I was struck by several things in what he said, especially his calling his listeners to be, like Jesus, "an unexpected shock to the world, in love and humility". There is nothing, in any good context, more eloquent than to encounter what you do not expect! The great preacher places himself beneath the Word. He said: "we are to become all things to all people; to lay down our lives for our friends; to love our enemies; to turn the other cheek… expecting nothing in return…”. The feast is passed on by the faithful people. Our abuna, the preacher, knows that Man, in all circumstances, is not renewed unless he becomes a disciple of the Word of God. Every soul that embraces the Word offers Jesus to the world. This is preaching in Christ.
