Pray this Prayer

The words of Saint John Chrysostom: “the poor exist for the salvation of the rich”, are calling on all the Churches, in the East and the West, to include them in their collective and individual prayers. For the believer, prayer is a good source for doing good; it is our guide for our life to belong to God. I would have liked to say that they are calling on all people, from every culture and religion. However, I do not want you to think that I am imposing a tradition upon those whom it concerns and those who see that it does not concern them. I leave the goodwill to whoever accepts it. Notice, if you please. Chrysostom says that the poor are for the rich a gift from heaven, for their existence and their salvation. The words are for the rich, any rich, to derive his existence from serving the poor, any poor, out of desire to obey God and to be saved. "Pray this prayer". This is our enduring wealth to follow the saints in the gold they have left for us.
