Plestia Alaqad

A friend of mine introduced me to Plestia Alaqad, the Gazan journalist. Those who convince you, in a single moment, that the victories of life are subject to merit, are the Gaza to come! This young lady (22 years old), like many of her peers, has chosen her own way to participate in the defense of her country. She took it upon herself to fight negligence, hatred, and violation of international laws... with videos from the battlefield that Plestia posts on social media, playing a pioneering role in confronting beasts that seek to prey, mercilessly, on the land and its people. If she speaks in front of her camera, she attracts your attention with her elegant, resisting, presence, and if the missiles echoing near her force her to remain silent, she attracts your attention with her silence. The sounds of the missiles do not throw her into confusion, but rather, she keeps silent before them with the calmness of the great people and the sorrow of the sensible ones. The sleeping world must hear the relentless sounds of hatred! This is a tribute to Plestia and to all those, like her, who deserve to write on today’s pages that tomorrow is ours.
