How do we help one another be better? The question reveals that the better is possible in the communal life, in the sense that the one who takes care of the brethren out of conviction, is always before the “good Word of God,” or that is what should be. This does not only mean that the communal life is entered by the person who is conscious that he is imperfect and wants to be better, but that it is also the place where consciousness arises. Do I mean that those who commit themselves to the communal life automatically get rid of their shortcomings? In fact, they all know that righteousness is a goal that requires the grace of striving, which is endless on earth. Their righteousness, so to speak, lies in that they are in the company and assistance of the brethren. There are two types of people in the world, individuals and persons. Only persons know that togetherness is our path to the better.
