Our Victory

A few days ago, I was overcome by the Corona virus. The friends, who checked up on me in their calls, all said: “a passing malaise”. The phrase is understandable. The disease is no longer killing, in general. However, you are at home with your pain and with this cough that does not want to stop, with your memories, and with those who have tasted bitter pain, loneliness… and death. Things do not always pass easily. My wife, who was also overcome by the disease, reminded me of brethren who had been recently broken by an infection contracted from someone close. The memory is more painful, maybe, or even surely, than the disease! I hope that the world will heal itself of the guilt feeling. The disease is using us to be transmitted. Am I absolving the whole world of blame? May God forgive those who are guilty of negligence or who have served death in more than one way. I am writing these lines after my friends proved to be right. The malaise has passed; thanks be to God. I pray for you and for all those who have told me, through their checking up in more than one form, that life is to love. This is our victory.
