My Father

I discovered my father after he returned to God, his Father! If I wanted to record the date of his absence, I would say forty-seven years ago. However, he whom you deem more powerfully present after descending into the dust, you will not be objective if you talk exclusively about his absence. Most young people, when their beards grow, seek after the freedom to be independent from their parents (Luke 15:11-32)! To learn freedom in togetherness, this is a good gift for us all, both fathers and sons! My father seemed to me this eternal hindrance. However, after being broken by his early death, I discovered that maturity is an enduring communion. After he was gone, I discovered the words that remain, the face that accompanies from afar, the vigilant eye, night and day... Yes, at first, it was the difficulties of life that brought me back to my father. I found him present in my loneliness, in my labors and my brokenness. Then I found him in my joys as well. I cannot go back. I do not want to go back. My father is with me. Is it my father or has my father left me in the custody of his Father?
