Memories From Zahle

I have lasting memories with the brethren in the Spiritual Activities Office in Zahle. I will tell you. Metropolitan George Khodr had referred me to talk about “Jesus’ temptation” to families from several churches gathering in the Antonine Sisters Convent in Bikfaya. There were brethren from Zahle, of whom I remember: Camille and Nada Cortas, as well as Sami and Maud Felfli. They asked me to repeat to the members of their office what I had told them. The execution of the request led us to a regular meeting with the office leaders twice a month for years. I was accompanied, on my journey from Beirut, by brother Ghassan Nawfal, then by brother Maher Zogheib. This is the summary of a journey in which there were consolations, hardships and fellowship in the road hazards that become very difficult in winter. We started in a church. Then we moved to the brethren’s houses, before we ended up again in a new church. The Word should remain free. The lasting friendships always express that we are the people of the Word.
