Love is always due to the Lord first. I have read many pages showing that the genuineness of loving the Lord is revealed by loving the brethren, both near and far. However, those who have written them had learned from God that He is love. God, if we love Him first, makes the world an expanse for love, for love only, causing love to be life and service. If you please, abide by these words. There are Christians everywhere who are in need of someone to remind them that Christianity is not merely a charity. I am not quenching a smoking flax. What I am saying is that Christianity's starting point is different. Its proclaimed secret lies in recognizing that love is relational, that is, it is a face from which one derives access to every face. Without the Lord, love is merely emotions, as important as they may be, they remain confined to this earthly realm. Only Jesus gave full expression to love. To love people to the end is to mirror your likeness to a God Who had loved you to the end. Love without Him is a body without a head. This is our exercise during Great Lent, to love more and more, to love Him first.
