There is a synodal decision that was taken by the bishops of our Antiochian Church that the marriage service should be conducted exclusively within our churches. Some believers still insist on breaking this decision, or they revolve around it, that is, they ask that their priest, after the actual marriage service (or on another day), accompanies them to an open venue where they would be holding the wedding dinner, in order for him to perform some kind of a prayer for them that will make them, with him, appear to be greater than their Church and her decisions! I know our Church very well. There are priests who think that pastoring people is to do for them whatever they ask. Now, I am not blaming only the priests who like to appear, in dissent, more important, but also those who only care about what they ask for from their Church. This is to remind you! This is not anyone's Church, be it a bishop, a priest, or a lay person. This is the Church of God, entrusted with the secret of His Holiness. Let us preserve the trust. This will preserve us all.
