Journeying in the Word

Today, I am returning to Antioch and the wounds and joys of her people, to my people whom I have never left, and who have opened my eyes to the fact that God, in love, is greater than my own eyes. I am returning to those whom I love, and to those of them who hold obvious hatred toward me. I was going to mention her name as an example of hatred. However, I refrained from the slander she insists on. I have known her since the time we, in Antioch, were ruled by tensions for an era that is still awaiting to be concluded. A friend of mine made available to me some facts about her, about her Church commitment, about her close relationships and her generous humaneness, and about her self-imprisonment in the hatred of tensions. I know that the hatred that she has for me has been instilled in her by “kinsfolk” whom she loves. Some of the love here is separation from there! Do not be surprised, but rather beware of every love that leads to hatred. Today I returned to Antioch. Where shall I be tomorrow? In any place that is bleeding or whose joys are waiting for someone to carry them far away. In a world awaiting to be swallowed up by the time of joy, I don't see a more beautiful journey than this journey in the word!
