A friend of mine told me about what happened to him at the entrance of a hospital in Beirut. He wanted to visit a relative of his. The story is for reforming. He said he stood in front of the "information clerk" seeking to inquire in which room his relative was staying. The clerk was seated, engrossed in a phone call. She saw him. She raised her hand signaling him to wait. Her voice was audible. She was making plans with someone, a friend or a lover, for a dinner appointment. The person appeared to be waiting for her to choose the venue for their dinner. She took her time. One companion and then another joined my friend. Lovers have their excuses. Then she realized the situation was becoming intolerable. She muttered a few words, placed her phone in front of her, turned to them, and said, as if the people who were waiting have materialized out of nowhere in front of her: "Yes"! My friend said: “Never mind! Everything: the anxiety of waiting, the time, the work that is awaiting others, all this is easy vis-a-vis lovers organizing their programs". Who would object?
