“His Name is John”

I have in my hands a book, currently in print, which I have entitled: "His name is John". This book, that will be published by An-Nour Orthodox Cooperative, was introduced by a foreword by my friend Dr. George Maalouly. My story with this book is quite a story. What prompted me to write it was a voice!, that of a nun, whom I do not know, which I heard on the radio of my car, speaking about the Baptist with amazing passion, especially about his saying: “He Who is coming after me”. This is the story: a voice that led me to write about the “Voice” (Matthew 3:3)! I think that the secret of John the Baptist, his greatest secret, is what made Jesus say of him that he is the greatest among those born of women. I am not speaking only of his being the forerunner, but first of his ability, from his mother’s womb to the day of his beheading, to hide himself for the love of Jesus, Who “is above all” (John 3: 31). May God grant us, through the intercessions of His forerunner, to ever keep in mind that, without this ability, our life is meaningless.
