I do not feel at ease to announce, from the pulpit of the Church, any activity other than that which aims to serve the Word and the poor. Once, the brethren asked me to announce an activity, the proceeds of which go to help children complete their education. I said to myself: "dedicate your homily today to the work of love". I announced what the brothers had requested. Then I proceeded to a broader discussion in which I brought up the fund for the service of the needy in the parish. I don't remember the number of people who were interested in the activity I announced. However, I remember that one of the brethren came to me after the service, and put a sum in my hand. He said: "this is for the fund!" I know the man very well. When I visit him, communicating with him exhausts me. He almost does not hear! Are there people more present than those who listen in their hearts?
