Two days ago, a young man, who works in a convenience store, was feeling sorry that, this year, he was unable to fast through Ramadan. I heard him saying that he had had to go to his town in Syria before the fast. His parents were ill and needed to be served, and they had infected him with the disease. Before he finished what he had to say, he asked his question: “does God accept, in lieu of a fast that I had dropped due to a weakness in me caused by illness, that I help a needy sick person?! I knew the needy person he meant. He is a man, from our region, who belongs to another church. I had heard that this young man buys him his food from the store he works in, both meat and vegetables! This young man captured my heart! No one, like the poor, knows that the poor person has no denomination. I wish him nothing other than for his God to cheer him in Eid-al-Fitr, him and all the loving people like him.
