He sat next to me. I was condoling with a friend on the death of his mother. One of the deceased's relatives led him to the empty seat next to me. He occupied it, and occupied me! Straight away, he prompted me to talk about what the Church is doing today in order to fight poverty in our country. He seemed composed, tactful and zealous for the Truth. We talked at length about our role, as individuals and as communities, in creating a just society. He amazed me when he said that the ministry of love in Christianity refuses to be confined within our Churches or our religion… Who is this man whose words are redolent with the sanctity of history? Until now, I knew nothing about him other than his name. I asked him about himself. He told me. The man was a committed member in another Church and was in charge of an institution that has many branches in our country. This conversation, in a consolation context, has confirmed to me, once again, that God never ceases to comfort us.
