Father Ghassan's Miniatures

Day after day, one of the brethren sends me what Father Ghassan Salloum posts on his Facebook account. Those who follow him know that what he posts are but miniatures that he draws from the pages of other writers, both local and international, the spreading of which he deems beneficial, as I do too. This, on my life, can only be done by those over whom the eloquence of the Word has power. What strikes me, in these miniatures, is that Father Ghassan, in drawing them from their places, is not confining himself to writers who convey the ethos of the Church he is serving, but he is also extending his eyes to where he discerns God’s eyes overshadowing what he is reading, whatever is its writer’s religion or denomination…, even to everything he considers enriching to our humanity in literature, philosophy and sciences… Today, I wanted to salute the breadth of his culture and his determination to let us see Truth, goodness and beauty in all their places.
