A friend of mine asked me to meet with his relatives whose father had passed away. He said, "They have questions about death which I want you to address”. I met with them. The questions I heard are familiar (Where is our father now? What awaits him? Can he see or hear us?...). I shared what I had to say. I bid them farewell and left. A few days ago, I met my friend again, and he told me that his relatives had requested another meeting. Death is an affliction. Not everyone can always deal with it realistically. We cannot project our wishes onto a straightforward event. How do we accept existence in separation? Life is not just what we see with our eyes. This is a mystery that cannot be understood without believing that Christ has conquered death, both His and ours. All of life is a scope to understand this mystery. I said these words to those I met in my first visit. I will say them again. There is no healing from the pain of death except in opening up to the Living Christ.
