Elizabeth

We have never had a girl who was present with us in the service of our household. After the repose of my mother-in-law, my son and his wife have kept on her assistant Elizabeth until she returned home a few days ago. This has made her come to us with my two grandsons a few days a week. The relationship is always delicate with any person who had left her country and her people for what she believes is a better life both for them and for herself. I noticed that, since my daughter went abroad to complete her studies, she had never asked us about her. Those who are bleeding with longing never bleed you. Before leaving, she had told my wife that she was burning with longing for her children. For her household, Elizabeth is both a mother and a father. Her husband has fallen asleep. She is aware that “God will not forsake us” (1 Kings 8:57). Was it her confidence in God that encouraged her to seek bread in a strange country? Every estrangement is (causes) anguish. God bestows mercy and strength. When she called to tell us that she had reached her home, her voice was jubilant. This was a joy for us as well. May your joy endure.
