Today at dawn, a natural disaster hit many regions in Turkey and Syria. Some of its repercussions reached us in Lebanon, along with a fear that is eloquent in reminding us that all life is fading away. People were here, and have departed. People had gone to bed in peace, and have risen to losses in their bodies and their properties. Young and old have gone missing. Souls have been broken. Places have fallen… Sometimes nature is treacherous. Tomorrow is not always in our hands. Who am I? I am a human being on a journey to a fixed station that God supervises with the light of His countenance and mercy. Nature cannot snatch someone out of God's hands forever. Nature prevails on earth, if love is absent. May God be with those who have preceded us to Him and with those who are broken in more than one way. And may He also be with those whom He gave, out of his kindness and generosity, to console people's brokenness with acts of love, which are the meaning of life in the present and in the future! God is more powerful. Love is more powerful.
