Culture Naturally

Ever since I saw you on this page, I have taken comfort in your vast expanse of ecclesiastical knowledge that is open to the world cultures, literature and poetry... I did not write these lines for praise, but for gratitude. I trust those who shatter our reality with the realistic belief that Man is naturally created to seek culture! You need no one to tell you that the new generations in our societies read almost nothing. I will not discuss the reasons now. I am just pointing out the insanity of this alienation from everything related to culture. There is a shocking statistical study, that compares between us and countries in the West, which reveals that the average time that an Arab citizen devotes to reading does not exceed ten minutes per year! I didn't misspell the word. Yes, ten per year! If we maintain this pace, we will be condemning ourselves, both in the present and in the future, to merely ruminate about the creativity of the world, if only we were capable of deciphering its codes! This is a tribute to Amal Farah Hojer.
