Beware of Idols

In these daily reflections, I do not write messages to people who have annoyed me in something. I know that, at times, I can be annoying. This bothers me and does not bother me! I do not like to be a cause of annoyance to anyone. However, neither do I like a person to live above the Word of Truth that edifies. We belong to a Church whose supreme understanding is that no one in her is above the Word. I have reached my mid-sixties. I know well that I am living in an expanse that has not yet reached its fullness. This confirms what I had repeatedly emphasized, namely, that life is for work. Two things I cannot renounce under any circumstances: the constant distance that I have learned to put between myself and all people, without exception; then my aversion to the sound of applause. This is a world in which most people like to be praised. I am not concealing the good brought about by encouraging the Truth. I am writing about the desires of the idol that rises within us. It is the Word that always wants us to "beware of idols" (1 John 5:21).
